Help! We’re melting!

How do you know you’re experiencing a Texas summer? When you suffer third-degree burns from the leather seat of your car. When your child’s popsicle melts before he starts eating it. When the weatherman calls for a mild day with a heat index of 95.

For all those reasons, it’s time to suggest something air-conditioned for our list of 25 fun things to do in Austin with kids in the summer.

#5. Capital Gymnastics

I know my Austin friends are saying, “Hey, give us something we don’t already know!”

In due time, my friends. In due time.

As you can see, my kids love Capital Gymnastics. They offer various programs for various ages. We like the parent-tot open gym. It costs $8 for an hour or $6 if you buy a frequent flipper card. Each location has different equipment, but they all include a trampoline track, balance beams, and bars. The McNeil location has a fun bouncy house. The Pflugerville and Avery Ranch locations have foam pits and large trampolines.

Call Cap Gym to verify exact dates and times and to reserve a spot. Open gyms can fill up quickly in the summer.

Run like Kiki!
